This is the Coca-Cola Edition 1941 Plymouth Business Man Coupe.

The 1941 Plymouth Business Man Coupe Model Kit originally was released in 1975. Since that time, the AMT 1941 Plymouth Business Man Coupe has been reissued and modified eight times, including a previous Coca-cola edition in 1999. This version has the revised custom pieces from 1998.

This time around, the 1941 Plymouth Business Man Coupe includes revised Coca-Cola decals for multiple optioned vehicles and newly tooled Coca-Cola crates and bottles.

There are two ways to build this model kit. The first is the "Direct from the Chrysler Factory" 1941 Plymouth Business Man Coupe. All the factory stock parts to build this version are included in the kit. You will use the factory stock universal chrome pieces, such as the rear deck handle, bumpers, wheel rings and hub caps, and fuel filler spout. The car rides on four skinny Firestone tires. 1941 would mark the last year for the 201-cubic-inch six and this kit includes a wonderful example of that engine.

In the custom street coupe version, AMT gives you, I believe, a 318 c.i. Plymouth engine, although I can't find any information on what this engine really is. It could also be a Ford 351 c.i. Windsor. Either way, you get a V-8 engine with a 4-bbl carburetor, chrome air cleaner, exhaust headers with special inner fender aprons, relieved for the headers, and stock front engine cover. You can also replace the factory bumpers with Desoto style ribbed bumpers. The old Plymouth wheels and Firestone tires have also been replaced with (new for 1998) full Moon hubcaps wheels and Goodyear Eagle directional tires. There is also a custom steering wheel included in this kit.

The AMT 1941 Plymouth Business Man Coupe Model Kit is one of my all time favorite kits which is easy to build and goes together well and I am glad that AMT has re-released it once again under Round2 in their Coca-Cola series. In fact, Round2 is releasing a full line of Coca-Cola 1/25th scale vehicles from their AMT, MPC and Polar Lights lines that would be fun to build and collect. I plan on getting some of these for the store and building a special showcase for them.
